In this workshop, we will learn about the Business Model Canvas and how it can streamline the process of finding your ideal business model. We will review key concepts such as revenue models, costs, customer relationships, channels, and key partnerships, looking at how each can make your business successful.

Learning Outcomes

You have a great idea for a product. You know, though, that that’s only 10% of the secret to a successful business. Finding customers, figuring out how to generate revenue, getting partners – those are the real key to a profitable enterprise. In this session, we’ll use the Business Model Canvas, the same core tool used in the NSF I-Corps program, to help ideate the details of how to actually run your business.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand the Business Model Canvas and its role in launching a resilient business
  • Apply the Canvas methodology to your business idea
  • Identify potential customer segments and key partnerships for an effective go-to-market plan
  • Build a revenue model, cost estimates, and other financial concepts
